ÁGNES SZOLNOKI

SZOLNOKI ÁGNES

Ágnes Szolnoki creates watercolor studies of birds and insects found in Hungary, which she then features not only on artistic prints but also on everyday objects, much to the delight of both children and adults.

Connecting with nature has been an important part of Ágnes's life for years. While painting her bird and insect studies, she also develops her own knowledge: they provide her with the opportunity to delve deeper into the life of the bird and insect world around us, and she wishes to share this wonderful discovery with others through her work.

To date, she has created nearly fifty different studies of these beautiful creatures, so almost everyone can find their favorite little bird or insect among them. While painting these studies, it occurred to her that others might also want to learn more about birds and insects, just like her. This led to the idea of a multilingual identification memory game in 2016.

Currently, three different memory games featuring her illustrations are available, each with identification guides, so the names of Hungarian birds and insects can be quickly learned while playing, even in multiple languages (Hungarian-English-Latin, or German-English-Latin). This way, on our next excursions or even during bird feeding, we can already call them by their proper names.
