Kartal Dévai, the designer and creator behind dėvai keramika, crafts wabi-sabi inspired objects where natural forms, raw textures, and the beauty of imperfection converge. He believes that a cup, a bowl, or a pot is not merely a utilitarian item, but rather a form that fits snugly in the hand, where the craftsmanship of the past and the demands of the present are in balance.
dėvai keramika merges the essence of Far Eastern tea culture with the elegance of modern aesthetics. His objects are created with the Japanese approach to pottery: high-fired, functional ceramics that make the special ritual of daily tea and coffee drinking even more ceremonial.
Every piece of dėvai keramika is made with slow, patient work, with respect for the material. Kartal's works include Japanese and Chinese-style tea implements (gaiwans, shiboridashis, kyusus, chawans, etc.), as well as functional items (cups, plates, bowls, sets, and decorative objects) that serve well in catering establishments and homes alike.
