Since 2012, MAACRAFT has operated as a work-rehabilitation program of the Miskolc Autistic Foundation.
Their peers with autism and intellectual disabilities working in their workshop are not only the creators of the products but, in many cases, also the originators of the ideas.
It is particularly important for them that the work processes are not just about producing and selling products, but also about helping the integration of the workshop's creators. During the design of their products, they collaborate with Hungarian designers, then, with the help of conductors and specialists, they develop them into producible items.
Their long-term goal is to draw attention to autism and people with autism, to the importance of their acceptance and inclusion, and to initiate an active dialogue on the topic.
