The new collection , named gemmO , was also introduced by Fruzsi Fekete Jewelry at the exclusive anniversary event, when Budapest's new jewelry workshop, Atelier Fruzsi Fekete , officially opened its doors . The opening, which was accompanied by a champagne toast, featured conceptual jewelry and unique wedding rings with unique textures by jewelry designer Fruzsi Fekete, as well as the well-known LEAVES and CURVES collections.

The fancy name gemmO means gemstone – this “spice” appears and becomes an unavoidable element of the new collection without making the use of stones seem excessive. In line with the ars poetica of Fruzsi Fekete Jewelry, every gemmO piece of jewelry, be it earrings, rings or necklaces , was created in the spirit of moderation and understated elegance .
“A drop of gemstone can give a piece of jewelry a completely different character. Since the launch of the Fruzsi Fekete Jewelry brand, I have been trying to create pieces that exude a subtly rustic, timeless elegance, and although gemstones have appeared in hand-crafted jewelry before, in the current gemmO collection I turned to them much more consciously from the first moment of design. This resulted in a much more unified, harmonious collection – in which the restrained rustic character typical of the brand and a hint of confident brilliance are still strongly present,” summarized Fruzsi Fekete.

Like the brand's previous jewelry, gemmO pieces are made one by one, using Fruzsi's preferred lost-wax process . Thanks to this technique, the designer's fingerprint is preserved in the beeswax used as a starting point, lending a rustic character to the finished silver jewelry .
The current collection features various gemstones , but the most commonly used stone is sapphire . What is worth knowing about this gemstone? “Sapphire – just like diamond, ruby or emerald – is one of the first-rate gemstones. It is a member of the corundum mineral group, and although the name comes from the Greek word “sapheiros” (meaning blue), sapphire does not only mean stones with a bluish tint. Sapphire can be bluish, but also pink, orange, yellow, green, and there are also colorless versions,” explains Fruzsi.

GemmO's gemstones, which shine in beautiful colors, find their place in a piece of jewelry in various ways - in addition to the classic English setting, the designer embeds the stones in a special bubble or star setting , which can vary not only in color, but also in size and clarity, depending on the requirements of the given piece of jewelry.
“You can’t just stand out from the crowd if all eyes are on you. You can also radiate strength and confidence in a restrained and modest way,” says the designer. Most of the time, these brilliant details are barely noticeable in the jewelry, but that’s where their solid elegance lies – the gemstones are unobtrusive, yet they lend a unique look to a rustic pair of earrings, pendants or rings.

You can also purchase pieces from the new gemmO collection at Makers Market at Fény Street Market, or you can find them in the brand's workshop, within the walls of Atelier Fruzsi Fekete (1084 Budapest, Tavaszmező utca 1).
